The April horse show results have been published. April had 141 horse and rider combinations and PHJA paid out more than $2,000 in prize money. A special thanks to Stephanie DeVries and Betty Robinson for their sponsorships of the Hunter Stakes and Jumper Jackpot classes.
Pensacola Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce our version of the Stimulus Package. The April 2009 horse show will have many opportunities to win cash including:
The Hunter Classic held on both Saturday and Sunday
Jumper Jackpot with $100 added money per class PLUS $10 per entry going to the prize money
Hunter Stakes held for each division in Ring II on Saturday.
Please read your show bill for more details, or contact the horse show secretary.
We had a great turn out for the first show of the season with more than 120 horse and rider combinations. The jumper jackpot classes were well participated and everyone enjoyed receiving their pay out check! Our new division, Intermediate Adult Hunter, had five entries. It was a good start to our new year.
Please see the results posted on the web page results section. We hope to see everyone in April.
The prize list for the March horse show has been mailed. If you have not received your prize list, a download can be found on our web site under event schedule. Pre entries close March 13th. Please be sure to read your prize list, as there are several changes for 2009 including money pay back for the jumper classes, removal of limitations for certain divisions, and the addition of a new division for adult riders. Please direct all questions to the show secretary.
We hope to see you at the March show to kick off our 2009 season.
Many of you know and remember Ashleigh Holmes, our walk trot rider that needed a lung transplant.
We are happy to report that Ashleigh received her new lungs last Monday and is doing well. If you would like to send Ashleigh a message as she is recouping, get an update on her progress, or sign her guestbook, please cut and paste the following link:
The message board can be found at the bottom of the page, as well as an address to send donations to Ashleigh and her family. Keep Ashleigh in your thoughts and prayers and send her message to let her know we are thinking about her. Many thanks to Danielle for keeping us updated.
The 2009 PHJA horse show dates have been published on the home page. There will be four shows this year including one in March, April, September, and October. The prize list for the March 21-22 show will be sent shortly. Word is that there are several changes to the prize list, including a new division and changes for eligibility requirements, so please be sure to read it. Hope to see you at the show.
We had a great turnout for the 35th annual Pensacola Hunter Jumper Association banquet held at the University of West Florida two weekends ago. The food was terrific and everyone had a good time. If you were not able to attend, please check out the horse show results page to view the year end awards. You can contact the show secretary to make arrangements to pick up your awards. Thank you to all of the board members who organized this event.
Have you noticed the results from the September and October horse show have been published, including the Fall Classic results? Check it out.
Your reservations and payment for the banquet are due Friday, January 9. Making reservations in advance is strongly recommended. The banquet will be held at the University of West Florida Conference Center next Saturday January 17th. Hope to see you next weekend.
